Email from my editor at Del Rey indicates I ought to be getting copies of THE QUEEN’S BASTARD pretty soon here. TQB is my tenth (including the novella, which I do) published novel. I feel like I should do something celebratory! But I don’t know what. I’d like to run a good contest, and…I donno! Ideas?

How about things we’ve done after reading one of your books? Example: I ending up signing up for Seattle’s Community Police Academy. I live in Seattle’s North precinct and after reading Urban Shaman decided I needed to learn more about the SPD. Ten weeks later I was receiving a plaque from the Chief (I have the photo pinned to my wall)!

Well, I am already working for police academy (by the way I think the police-job thread in Urban Shaman is really funny, and I know something about it!).
My idea for contest: guess what kind of drink or food will the heroine intake as first in the unpublished book or unpublished part of book. Or: guess the first word she will tell. Or the first word of the book

How about some kind of Ireland triavia thing or a contest to describe yourself in 5 words? Just a couple of ideas.
